Imagine stepping into a stylish hallway where the floor gleams with a mysterious beauty. This became a reality for a North West London homeowner who wanted to upgrade their ground floor with a touch of modern flair. We were excited to be part of this project, and today, we'll take you through the journey, showing how amazing tiles and expert tiling can create a whole new look.


The homeowner wanted a modern ground floor that felt luxurious and special. They craved a floor that would be the centre of attention but still fit in with their existing furniture and décor.  Onyx-effect porcelain tiles turned out to be the perfect choice. These tiles look just like real onyx stone, with beautiful swirls and patterns that create a timeless and elegant look, exactly what the homeowner was hoping for.

Laying The Tiles

For this project, we used big (1200x600mm) porcelain tiles that look exactly like real onyx.


Porcelain tiles were ideal because they capture the beauty of real stone but are much easier to live with.  They're strong and don't scratch, stain, or fade easily, so the homeowner can enjoy their luxurious floor for a long time.  The large size of the tiles also makes the space feel bigger and more open.


Our skilled tilers took one week to completely change the homeowner's ground floor.  First, they carefully prepared the surface by laying down mats to make sure it was completely flat. Then, they used a special laser to lay the tiles perfectly straight with almost invisible grout lines, which makes the finished floor look even better.  Finally, they added silicone around the existing skirting boards and the new tiles to create a polished finish.

The finished project shows just how much a great choice of tiles and expert installation can transform a space. The onyx-effect porcelain tiles make the ground floor feel luxurious, with their subtle patterns creating a stunning impression. 



The large tiles make the space feel bigger, and the careful grouting creates a clean and sophisticated look.  The homeowner's dream of a modern and special space has come true, and their ground floor is now a showstopper that will impress everyone who sees it.


The homeowner is thrilled with the final result!  They loved everything about the project, from our first meeting to the final installation.  They were especially impressed with how quickly and carefully our tilers worked, and how much they cared about getting all the details just right.  The newly transformed ground floor is now a source of immense pride for the homeowner, a space they can't wait to show off to friends and family.
